The "ancestors" of Golden Laced Wyandottes originated in Wisconsin and were called Winnebagoes. By 1880 they received their present-day name.
Their feathers are gold to golden brown and sharply outlined with a shiny black color. This breed is active, well-mannered and particularly cold-hardy.
